THE WELL EDIT

Late Summer / 2026

What we’re reading, seeing, listening to + practicing lately.

Wellness isn’t only what happens on the mat.

Sometimes it’s a book that follows you home. A room that changes the way you listen. A song you play four times without realizing it. Or finally getting what’s circling your brain onto paper.

For late summer: Frida, floating bowls, LATIN MAFIA + a little less noise in the head.

What Would Frida Do? A Guide to Living Boldly — Arianna Davis

I recently spent an afternoon with Frida — first at MoMA’s Frida and Diego: The Last Dream, then at a Cultura Takeover conversation with author Arianna Davis. I left with a signed copy of What Would Frida Do?

Frida Kahlo has become an icon, an aesthetic, almost shorthand for boldness. But underneath all of that was a woman who was complicated, creative, contradictory and deeply herself.

Davis uses Frida’s life as a way into bigger questions about creativity, identity, heartbreak, confidence and living on your own terms.

The part I’m keeping:

Not: What would Frida wear?

What would it look like to trust yourself a little more?

SEE

Hundreds of ceramic bowls. Pools of water. No score.

The bowls drift, meet and gently collide—making music as they go.

That was clinamen, Céleste Boursier-Mougenot’s installation at Park Avenue Armory.

I loved it.

Not because it was trying to teach us how to be present. It simply made paying attention interesting.

You wanted to listen.
To watch.
To wait for the next bowl to find another.

No productivity required.

Just notice what happens when you stay long enough to hear it.

LISTEN

LATIN MAFIA × Fred again..

Maybe it’s because they refuse to stay in one lane.LATIN MAFIA moves between R&B, reggaeton, indie, electronic music and whatever else feels right—which might be exactly why I keep coming back.

Their collaboration with Fred again.., 9 months & 50 hours, has been on rotation. Especially “Te Estoy Correteando.”

There’s something about the repetition of the sound and rhythm that almost becomes a mantra. At some point, you stop anticipating where the song is going and just... fall into it.

Yes, there are interesting things to say about rhythm, repetition and the brain.

But sometimes we can let something feel good without turning it into homework.

Convention-bending. A little hypnotic. Very much on repeat.

PRACTICE

The Morning Brain Dump

My current practice is decidedly less glamorous:

Get it out of my head.

Before the tabs open. Before the texts. Before the day starts asking things of me.

A notebook. A pen. A few minutes.

No perfect morning pages. No profound prompt. No need to turn every thought into an insight.

I write whatever is taking up space—the thing I’m thinking about, avoiding, excited about, or haven’t quite figured out yet.

Sometimes clarity comes from figuring something out.

Sometimes it comes from giving the thought somewhere else to live.

Tomorrow morning: three minutes. Uncensored.

Then close the notebook.

You don’t have to solve everything you notice.

CONSIDER

What is quietly nourishing you right now?

Not improving you.

Not becoming content.

Just nourishing you.

Keep some of that.

Keep what nourishes you. Leave the rest.
